Une suspension est un luminaire qui pend au plafond et qui peut être contrôlé avec une télécommande. Son but est de fournir un éclairage dans un espace sans créer d'ombres.
Les luminaires suspendus deviennent de plus en plus populaires car les gens cherchent des moyens d'augmenter la quantité de lumière naturelle dans leur maison. De plus, ils offrent un design plus contemporain que d'autres types de luminaires comme les lustres ou les suspensions.
Les suspensions sont également utilisées comme solution esthétique lorsqu'il n'y a pas assez d'espace pour d'autres luminaires comme des lustres ou des suspensions.
